Thaipusam in Batu Cave, Selangor

When we mention about Thaipusam at Selangor, definitely celebration at Batu Caves (Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple), is the first thing crosses our minds. Celebration at Batu Cave usually starts two days earlier, with people who vowed to carry milk pots. I am certain that most Malaysians will agree with me that the Thaipusam celebration at Batu Caves indeed one of the  glorious and grandest  Hindu’s religious celebration in Malaysia.

Last year, our Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak added glory to the celebration with his official visit to Batu Caves supporting Indian community freely practice their religion in the right manner. On the other hand, Thaipusam itself one of an important festival that attracts thousands of tourists from all around the world.

I will strongly recommend using public transportation to travel during the festival.  More than half millions of people are expected to gather at Batu Caves Murugan Temple. Most of the roads will be heavily congested. For this celebration, especially most of the public transport providers will offer extended hour services including LRT and Rapid KL bus services.
